UFC 156 Fighters Return Negative Drug Tests


ufc-156(2)All tested UFC 156: Aldo vs. Edgar participants returned negative drug tests following the Feb. 2 event.

Nevada Athletic Commission Executive Director Keith Kizer informed MMAWeekly.com of the results on Wednesday.

UFC 156 took place at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas and was headlined by the UFC featherweight title bout between champion Jose Aldo and former lightweight titleholder Frankie Edgar. Aldo defeated Edgar by unanimous decision to retain his 145-pound belt. The bout won Fight of the Night honors.

In the co-main event, Antonio “Bigfoot” Silva pulled off a come-from-behind upset win over Alistair Overeem. Overeem controlled the first two rounds of the fight, but Silva ended it early in the third stanza by knockout. The win earned Silva a Knockout of the Night bonus and a rematch with heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez.

Antonio Rogerio Nogueira defeated former light heavyweight champion Rashad Evans on the undercard while Demian Maia logged a dominating performance over Jon Fitch in welterweight action.
