10,275 spectators filled the Mandalay Bay Events Center on Saturday to witness UFC 156: Edgar vs. Aldo, generating a $2.437 million gate.

Featherweight champion Jose Aldo defended his belt with a unanimous decision win over former UFC lightweight titleholder Frankie Edgar in the main event of the eleven-fight card.

Antonio Rogerio Nogueira defeated former UFC light heavyweight titleholder Rashad Evans in the co-main event, eliminating any hope for Evans to drop to middleweight and face pound-for-pound kingpin Anderson Silva next.

Antonio “Big Foot” Silva stopped highly regarded striker Alistair Overeem by TKO on the under card.  Overeem was all but guaranteed a title shot with a win.  Silva had other plans.
