Georges St-Pierre vs Carlos Condit UFC 154 weighGeorges St-Pierre is back after a year and a half out of action. He’ll step into the Octagon across from Carlos Condit at UFC 154: St-Pierre vs. Condit on Saturday night on his home turf at the Bell Centre in Montreal.

Before St-Pierre and Condit can unify the UFC welterweight and interim titles, they first had to step on the scale at New City Gas to make weight.

Despite more than a year and a half out of action, St-Pierre wasn’t rusty when it came to his weight cut. The current UFC welterweight champion weighed in at 170 pounds. Condit didn’t have any trouble either, stepping on the scale at 169.

St-Pierre genuinely appears excited to be stepping back into the Octagon, telling the crowd in Montreal, “I missed this so much, you guys cannot believe. I’m so excited for tomorrow. I’ll give you guys a good show; don’t miss it!”

Condit is just as excited. Despite saying he has less pressure on his shoulders than GSP, Condit still put the enormous magnitude of this fight in perspective.

“This fight is basically the culmination of a lot of hard work,” Condit remarked after stepping off the scale. “I haven’t just been thinking about this fight for the last year, I’ve been thinking about fighting Georges my entire career.”

Johny Hendricks and Martin Kampmann will square off in the co-main event in a pivotal welterweight bout, although the winner may have to stand on the sidelines if St-Pierre wins and takes an Anderson Silva superfight.

Regardless, both made weight. Each of them weighed in at 171 pounds, making their bout official.
