UFC 150 Hits Low In Paid Ticket Sales With $650,000 Live Gate

Denver, Colorado was the home of UFC 150: Henderson vs. Edgar 2 this Saturday night with UFC lightweight champion Ben Henderson earning a hard fought, controversial, split decision win over former champion Frankie Edgar.

Dana White announced at the press conference that UFC 150 sold $650,000 in tickets with an audience of 15,008 people at the Pepsi Center.

The UFC President feels with the Colorado wildfires and the “Dark Knight Rises” shootings that UFC 150 was going to suffer in ticket sales.

“It was the worst gate since 2007 for a pay-per-view,” Dana White said at the UFC 150 post-fight media scrum.  “We’ve all been talking about it.  The shootings here, the fires, it’s been a really bad summer for this place.  Once all that stuff was going down, we thought, ‘it’s not going to be a good gate here.’

The live gate of $650,000 is a significant decrease in ticket sales for the UFC, but it wasn’t unexpected due to the circumstances.  UFC 150 will stand as the lowest paid pay-per-view gate this summer.
