Round 3:  A lot of missing to start the round by both.  Nurmagmedov lands a right hand.  He closes the distance and presses Tibau against the fence.  Tibau delivers a knee to the body.  They separate and Nurmagomedov lands a right hand on the break.  Tibau secures a takedown and works to take his back but Nurmagomedov gets to his feet and eventually free.  Nurmagomedov presses him against the cage.  Nurmagomedov gets warned for holding the fence.  Tibau pushes him away and they’re back at distance.  Nurmagomedov lands a looping right  hand.  Tibau steps in with a left hand.  Nurmagomedov answers with a right hand.  Nurmagomedov swings for the fences at the end but comes up short.  MMAWeekly scores the round 10-9 for Tibau.

The judges score it unanimously for Nurmagomedov shocking Joe Rogan and Mike Goldberg.  All three scorecards read 30-27.
