Mike Brown vs. Daniel Pineda

Round 1: They touch gloves and UFC 146 is officially underway.  Pineda takes the center of the Octagon.  Brown moves in with his jab.  Pineda moves away.  Pineda misses with a high kick and slips.  Brown moves in and lands a right hand.  Pineda lands an uppercut and a knee that staggers Brown.  Brown drops down and powers a takedown, pushing Pineda across the cage.  Brown passes Piineda’s guard.  He lands short right hands from the top position.  Pineda reverses him.  Brown gets to his feet.  They work inside the clinch position.  Brown lands a right hand on the break.  Two minutes remain in the round.  Brown switches his stance.  He lands a lead left hook.  Pineda works for a takedown and Brown tosses him aside and gets top position.  He works in half guard.  Brown traps his arm and lands left hands.  Pineda works back to his feet at the bell.  MMAWeekly scores the round 10-9 for Brown.

Round 2:  Pineda comes in with a double jab.  Brown lands a solid right hand.  They’re winging punches.  Pineda lands a nice right hand.  He drops for a takedown and gets it.  Brown gets up and slams Pineda to the canvas.  Brown is in north-south position.  He moves to side control.  Pineda sweeps him.  Brown gets up and pushes forward with a left hand.  They’re clinched along the cage.  Brown lands knees to the body.  Brown has him against the cage and is dirty boxing to the body and head.  Pineda fires back.  They separate.  The pace slows a bit.  Pineda misses with a spinning back fist.  Brown goes in and slips.  Pineda can’t react fast enough and Brown gets top position.  He works inside Pineda’s closed guard.  Brown lands punches to the body and head.  He lands a couple of short hammer fists.  Brown lands a hard elbow.  Pineda delivers an elbow from the bottom that cuts Brown.  Brown lands a series of big punches at the bell.  MMAWeekly scores the round 10-9 for Brown.

Round 3:  Pineda lands a heavy outside leg kick to start the round.  Brown pushes forward with a double jab.  Brown lands a knee to the body that drops Pineda.  He dives into Pineda’s guard and lands shots to the body and head.  He passes Pineda’s guard briefly but Pineda gets back to half guard.  Pineda gets back to full guard but Brown continues to land shots.  Pineda slips around and takes Brown’s back.  He applies a body triangle.  90 seconds remain in the fight.  Brown controls one of Pineda’s arms. Pineda lands punches and looks to lock in a choke.  Pineda lands left hands.  The round ends.  MMAWeekly scores the round 10-9 for Brown.

The judges scores Mike Brown the winner by unanimous decision.  All three scorecards read 29-28.
