UFC 146 Gate and Attendance Numbers

14,592 Spectators filled the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas to see UFC 146: Dos Santos vs. Mir on Saturday garnering the promotion $3.4 million in gate receipts.

The UFC 146 main card featured all heavyweight bouts headlined with the heavyweight title bout between champion Junior Dos Santos and former titleholder Frank Mir.

Dos Santos retained his belt by battering Mir with strikes.  Mir wasted no time trying to get the fight to the ground where he felt he had a distinct advantage.  Dos Santos shrugged off the attempt and the rest of the bout took place on its feet, other than when Mir was knocked down.  The end came when Dos Santos dropped Mir with a right hand and followed up with a well-placed hammer fist at the 3:04 mark of the second round.

In other action, former heavyweight titleholder Cain Velasquez defeated UFC newcomer and Strikeforce veteran Antonio “Big Foot” Silva to bounce back from his first career loss.
