UFC 145 Bonuses: Ben Rothwell, Travis Browne, Eddie Yagin, Mark Hominick Earn $65,000 Each

Four men were awarded post-fight bonuses at UFC 145, as Ben Rothwell, Travis Browne, Eddie Yagin and Mark Hominick each received $65,000 for their performances Saturday night at Philips Arena in Atlanta.

Rothwell (Pictured, file photo) earned “Knockout of the Night” for his first-round stoppage of Brendan Schaub, and Browne took home “Submission of the Night” honors after forcing Chad Griggs to tap out to a first-round arm-triangle choke. Meanwhile, Yagin and Hominick snatched “Fight of the Night” for their three-round featherweight tilt.

Rothwell weathered an early storm from “The Hybrid” in round one, only to quickly turn the tables. With his back against the cage, the International Fight League veteran unleashed a hard left hook that clipped Schaub on the temple, dropping “The Ultimate Fighter” Season 10 veteran and giving Rothwell his second UFC victory.

Browne came out with bad intentions in the evening’s final undercard attraction, closing the distance on his undersized foe and taking the Strikeforce veteran to the mat. Griggs had no answer from his back, as “Hapa” effortlessly trapped his arm and locked up the fight-ending choke. Though “The Grave Digger” held on as long as he could, he succumbed to the pressure and tapped out desperately at 2:29.

Yagin showed little respect for Hominick’s striking arsenal in the early going, dropping the Canadian with a hard right hand in the first frame. “The Machine” eventually escaped to his feet, but he he would once again hit the canvas in the second round, courtesy of a Yagin uppercut. While Hominick clearly took the third frame on the strength of his accurate boxing, it was not enough to sway the judges, and Yagin earned his first UFC victory via split decision over the onetime featherweight title challenger.
