UFC 143 Attracts 9,015 Spectators, Earns $2.4 Million Live Gate

A total of 9,015 spectators attended UFC 143, producing a live gate of $2,389,975.

Keith Kizer, Nevada State Athletic Commission executive director, informed Sherdog.com of the figures Monday via email.

Headlined by an interim welterweight title tilt pitting former Strikeforce champion Nick Diaz against onetime World Extreme Cagefighting king Carlos Condit, UFC 143 took place Feb. 4 at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas.

Condit emerged victorious in the main event, taking home a contentious unanimous decision victory over Diaz and setting up an potential pairing with longtime welterweight champion Georges St. Pierre, who was sidelined with a torn ACL in December.

Of the 9,015 spectators in attendance, 6,727 paid for their admission and 2,288 were comped, making the average paid price per ticket $355.28. A total of 751 tickets remained unsold.

Also featuring a heavyweight collision between Fabricio Werdum and Roy Nelson , the evening’s main draw aired live on pay-per-view. The preliminary card, which immediately preceded the pay-per-view broadcast, was broadcast live on FX.
