It seemed only fitting with the NBA Finals just days away that 6’7? Travis Browne met 6’11? Stefan Struve at UFC 130. When it was over, the shorter man walked out with a devastating victory.
Still undefeated in his MMA career, Travis Browne has shown to be a formidable striker, but it was a rare occasion that he actually faced a fighter taller than him when he stepped in the cage with Struve.
The long, lanky Dutchman used that reach early to check Browne’s kicks and keep his opponent away, but it ended up only working for so long.
Once Browne found his distance he timed a punch that was likely heard all throughout Las Vegas.
As Struve jumped in for a knee, he was met by a Superman punch courtesy of Browne, and as it connected flush on the chin, the young Dutch fighter went crashing to the mat.
Browne followed up for a couple more strikes, but they were very unnecessary as Struve was knocked cold after the nasty punch put his lights out.
“That’s what we train everyday. Come in here and touch somebody up,” Browne stated giving credit to his teams in San Diego and Hawaii for the win.
Browne now moves to 2-0-1 in the Octagon and will likely take home a nice bonus when UFC 130 is over.
