UFC 130: Demetrious Johnson Played Through The Pain to Defeat Miguel Torres

“Pain heals, chicks dig scars, glory lasts forever”Shane Falco – ‘The Replacements’

Playing through the pain is part of sports, and Demetrious ‘Mighty Mouse’ Johnson got a taste of that first hand on Saturday night.

In the first round of his fight against Miguel Torres, Johnson cracked the former WEC champion with a kick, but it was blocked. When he pulled back his leg, Johnson believed it was broken.

“I kicked Miguel, he checked it, and it felt like I broke my leg when I stepped back,” Johnson revealed after the fight.

Despite the obvious pain, Johnson battled through 2 more rounds on his way to getting a victory at UFC 130. The win may very well put the Matt Hume trained fighter in the title picture, so it was work fighting through the injury to secure his spot in the bantamweight division.
