The Ultimate Fighting Championship recently added two more bouts to the UFC 128 fight card, bringing the total number of bouts to 12. UFC 128 features light heavyweight champion Mauricio “Shogun” Rua vs. Rashad Evans in the main event.
The two recent additions are the previously reported bouts pitting Ricardo Almeida vs. Mike Pyle and Dan Miller vs. Nick Catone.
Following a loss to Matt Hughes at UFC 117, Almeida (12-3) bounced back with a win over T.J. Grant at UFC 124 in Montreal. A New Jersey resident, Almeida returns to his home turf to face Pyle (20-7-1), who is 3-2 in the UFC, but is coming off of back-to-back victories.
Dan Miller (13-4), a native of New Jersey, joins his brother, Jim, on the fight card. After losing three-straight short-notice fights against some of the top fighters in the UFC middleweight division, Dan has won his last two fights en route to UFC 128.
Catone (8-2) is coming off of a win over Jesse Forbes at UFC Fight Night 20 in January of 2010. He has been scheduled several times over the past year, but has continually returned to the sideline due to injury until now.
UFC 128 takes place on March 19 at the Prudential Center in Newark, N.J.
