The news sprung to life on Saturday that Zuffa, LLC, the parent company of the Ultimate Fighting Championship rocked the MMA world, once again, with its acquisition of Strikeforce, the company’s leading competitor.
Questions immediately resounded about the fighters and whether or not they would immediately be brought into the UFC fold, if the Strikeforce was no more, would the UFC take over Strikeforce’s Showtime deal, and more.
UFC and Zuffa chairman and CEO Lorenzo Fertitta, UFC president Dana White, and Strikeforce CEO Scott Coker held a joint conference call on Monday, answering all of these questions and more from members of the media.
