Tim Kennedy closed out the UFC’s third “Fight for the Troops” event in emphatic fashion with a crushing first-round knockout of Rafael Natal in the UFC Fight Night 31 main event.
Wednesday’s show from Fort Campbell in Kentucky featured four former or active members of the armed forces; however, Kennedy (17-4 MMA, 2-0 UFC) was the only one to record a victory.
The former Special Forces soldier scored a clean knockout of Natal (17-5-1 MMA, 5-3-1 UFC) as the first frame of the contest drew to a close, and the emotional win sent the troops in attendance into a frenzy.
