Twelve-bout WSOF 10 lineup finalized with six new preliminary contests

Next month’s WSOF 10 lineup is now complete with the addition of six new bouts, bringing the card’s full schedule to 12 total contests.

MMAjunkie today learned the new matchups include bantamweights Rudy Morales (3-0) vs. Timur Valiev (6-1), women’s bantamweights Ashlee Evans-Smith (2-0) vs. Marciea Allen (3-1), bantamweights Brandon Hempleman (9-2) vs. Andrew Yates (7-1), lightweights Justin Jaynes (2-1) vs. Jimmy Spicuzza (3-0), women’s flyweights Lynn Alvarez (6-3) vs. Sofia Bagherdai (5-2) and lightweights Tanner Cowan (0-0) vs. A.J. Williams (0-0).

Featuring three championship fights, WSOF 10 takes place June 21 at The Joint at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas. The main card airs on NBC Sports Network following prelims on MMAjunkie.

“Ruthless” Morales makes his promotional debut with a perfect 3-0 mark that includes a pair of hard-fought split-decision wins. He now meets Russian import Valiev, who lost his professional debut in September 2010 but has since rattled off six consecutive wins.

Evans-Smith fights for the first time since her October upset win over Fallon Fox. She meets “Black Widow” Allen, whose lone career loss to date cam in an October 2012 bout with current UFC fighter Jessamyn Duke.

“Hot Rod” Hempleman made his promotional debut in August, losing a hard-fought decision to Marlon Moraes but showing a ton of heart in the process. He now meets “The Golden Boy” Yates, who suffered a technical submission loss to Chad Robichaux at WSOF 6, marking the first professional loss of his career.

“Guitar Hero” Jaynes is an Xtreme Couture product who makes his WSOF debut against Robert Drysdale student Spicuzza, who picked up an impressive submission win over Gil Guardado at WSOF 9.

“Lights Out” Alvarez has fought against a number of MMA notables, including current WSOF champ Jessica Aguilar, as well as Carla Esparza, Angela Magana, Michelle Ould and Michelle Waterson. She now meets veteran Bagherdai, who was inactive from October 2008 to April 2012 but has gone 1-1 since her return.

Utah’s Cowan and Nevada’s Williams each make their professional debut.

With the additions to the card, the WSOF 10 lineup now includes:

  • David Branch vs. Jesse Taylor - for inaugural middleweight title
  • Champ Georgi Karakhanyan vs. Rick Glenn - for featherweight title
  • Champ Jessica Aguilar vs. Emi Fujino - for women’s strawweight title
  • Luiz Firmino vs. Tyson Griffin
  • Nick LoBosco vs. Lance Palmer
