Trekko, Pang-Corbbrey Top June 3 CFC Bill in Australia

CFC officials this week released the full, nine-fight bill for CFC 17, which takes place at Southport Sharks Function Centre in the city of Gold Coast. Occupying the co-main event slot is former CFC and current Legend FC 154-pound champ Adrian Pang (Pictured), who squares off with EliteXC and WEC veteran Muhsin Corbbrey.

Included on the undercard are several Australian up-and-comers of note: lightweight “Wonderboy” Shane Wundenberg faces Integrated Martial Arts representative Greg Atzori; fast-rising Gold Coast welterweight Ben Alloway clashes with unbeaten 20-year-old Robert Whittaker; and Zst vet Guy Belgrove goes up against Steven Semrany.

Magalhaes seeks to become the first man to retain the CFC lightweight belt, which he claimed from Pang in March 2010 with a five-round unanimous decision. A Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt from the Gracie Humaita academy, Trekko currently trains and teaches at TP Gym in Caringbah, New South Wales. The lone defeat on Magalhaes’ 10-1 ledger came in a February 2009 stoppage against Aussie Rob Hill.

The less heralded Lisita takes a four-fight hot streak into his title shot and has submitted three of his last four opponents in the opening round. The Lion’s Den Sydney fighter, a five-time CFC vet, was last seen in October forcing Wundenberg to tap to a first-frame triangle choke.

Pang is 7-2-1 in his last 10 starts, both defeats being decision losses to Magalhaes. The 33-year-old “Hunter” has won three in a row, most recently outpointing South Korean Yui Chul Nam in a rematch of their January 2010 draw. His opponent, Corbbrey, also 33, halted a three-fight skid with a June 2010 knockout of Cheng Jie Wu in Singapore’s Martial Combat promotion.
