Tito Ortiz Has Regrets About Public Feud With Jenna Jameson But Says Never Again

The public life of celebrities gets more and more public everyday.

From paparazzi sites like TMZ to social networking, celebrities have little to no privacy as it is, but it’s even less when they start to air their dirty laundry voluntarily.

Enter Tito Ortiz and the mother of his twin boys, former adult film star Jenna Jameson.

The celeb-u-couple has had almost every moment of their relationship followed from day one, but a very public split with both Ortiz and Jameson going after each other on Twitter only escalated the situation.

Looking back on it all, Ortiz, who was in the middle of a fight camp, training quite literally for his career survival, admits it became a distraction.

“Yeah it was, and it was a big, big, big, big, big factor. Huge factor,” Ortiz said during an interview with MMAWeekly Radio. “So huge that I literally put it out of sight, out of mind. Conversations don’t happen. All I pay attention to now is just to fight and train, see my boys, and that’s it man. For once in my life, for once in my career, I’ve really been selfish and paying strictly attention to myself. That’s how much this career and this fight game matters to me.”

The situation escalated to the point where nasty things were being spewed back and forth between Ortiz and Jameson, and everyone from other fighters and adult film stars started chiming in on the situation.

Signing up for a public life with a celebrity girlfriend is one thing, but Ortiz knows that there were mistakes made and he has some regrets on the way it went down.

“I can’t control anybody else’s life, with Jenna I can’t control her at all, she does her own thing,” Ortiz said. “I take back some of the things I put out on Twitter, I shouldn’t have done that, and I’ll never do that again.

“You’ll never see anything about my relationship, my family or anything. Maybe my sons when they win the state title in wrestling, that’s about as far as I’ll go on that. It’s strictly for business on Twitter.”

Always devoted to his fan following, Ortiz wants to position himself as a role model to kids or anybody looking up to him, and as a father of three getting into a very public spat on a social networking forum was not the way he wanted people to view him.

“I care about how fans think about me, how big of a champion I was, I care about fans thinking about me being a great father and a great motivation in their lives, being a great competitor, and I don’t want to sell them short or sell myself short by not giving them 100 percent. When I go into the cage and I fight on Saturday night, I know I’ve given that 100 percent during training,” Ortiz commented.

“I’m happy right now, I’m focused, I’m physically and mentally focused to compete. I have a lot of naysayers to shut up, and I’ve just got a lot of fans who supported me to show that I’m very thankful for them and if it wasn’t for them I wouldn’t be able to get in the gym every single day.”

As happy as he is, Ortiz is now all about business. No longer will he talk about his personal life, triumphs, or tragedies.

For the ‘Huntington Beach Bad Boy,’ his business is fighting, and it’s the only thing he wants to talk about.

“Mostly and pretty much all my interviews, I’ll never bring up my personal life out of that,” said Ortiz. “I learn my from mistakes, I’m human, I make mistakes, and I’m going to learn from my mistakes and I’ve learned from other’s mistakes, and hopefully others can learn from my mistakes.

“At the end of the day, I made a few mistakes, you can’t control other people, but you can only control your own destiny, and I’m going to continue doing that.”
