Despite losing its main event, Titan FC 31 delivered some exciting fights on Halloween night at the USF Sun Dome in Tampa, Fla.
The original Mike Ricci vs. Yoshiyuki Yoshida main event was cancelled on Friday when Yoshida decided not to fight. Originally slated to be a lightweight title fight, Ricci came in overweight on Friday. That changed the bout to a non-title fight, and Ricci was penalized 25-percent of his fight purse. But come Saturday, Yoshida had changed his mind and decided not to take the fight at all.
Whether it was because his fight was moved to the main event slot or because he wanted to make a big splash on the CBS Sports Network or a combination of factors, Desmond Green certainly stepped up to fill the hole left by the original headliner’s cancellation.

Green didn’t give former WEC champion Miguel Torres time to blink let alone thing, as he swarmed him in a flurry of punches and knees, eventually dropping Torres face-first to the mat by an uppercut. A couple hammerfists later and the fight was over, and Green stormed into the spotlight.
