A lightweight bout between Thiago Tavares (17-5-1 MMA, 7-5-1 UFC) and Quinn Mulhern (18-3 MMA, 0-1 UFC) has been targeted for November’s UFC Fight Night 32 event.
The bout, first reported by MMAFighting.com, takes place Nov. 9 at Goiania Arena in Goiania, Goias, Brazil.
The bulk of the card is expected to air on FOX Sports 1 following Facebook prelims, though it’s not clear where Tavares vs. Mulhern will be placed on the lineup.
Tavares, who fights in his home country for the fourth consecutive time, was on a 3-1 run before a recent knockout loss to fast-rising contender Khabib Nurmagomedov in January. Tavares subsequently failed a drug test due to an anabolic steroid and received a nine-month suspension.
The three-time “Fight of the Night” winner now takes on Mulhern, a former Strikeforce fighter who recently made his UFC debut. However, the former KOTC champion’s three-fight winning streak came to an end when he suffered a TKO loss to Rick Story.
