An undisclosed injury has forced veteran welterweight Thiago Alves out of next month's UFC 149 event.
MMAjunkie.com today confirmed the scratch with a source close to the event, and Alves later tweeted that he's undergoing surgery next week. MMAWeekly.com first reported.
A replacement search is underway to find someone for Alves' opponent, Siyar Bahadurzada, who was actually a replacement for injured Yoshihiro Akiyama.
