TV Ratings for Spike TV’s MMA Uncensored Live

Spike TV LogoSpike TV premiered its new mixed martial arts magazine show, MMA Uncensored Live, on Thursday night drawing in an average audience of 547,000 viewers.

The channel, which was long the home to UFC programming on basic cable television, is continuing its commitment to mixed martial arts.

While Spike TV has a library of past UFC programming that it has consistently used to counter-program the UFC’s offerings on the Fox family of networks, Spike is hoping to attract viewers to shows such as MMA Uncensored Live in preparation for moving Bellator Fighting Championships from MTV2 to its network in 2013.

MMA Uncensored Live’s magazine format features radio personality Craig Carton as host with middleweight fighter Nate Quarry and mixed martial arts veteran journalist Mike Straka as fight experts. Each 30-minute episode is broadcast live from the MTV Studios in Times Square in New York each week.

The premier episode features fighter Nick Diaz and Dan Henderson, as well as an investigative piece on the downfall of Pride Fighting Championships.
