Frankie Edgar may have punched his ticket to a second UFC featherweight title fight when he knocked out long-standing contender Chad Mendes at The Ultimate Fighter 22 Finale on Dec. 11.
The former lightweight champion finished Mendes midway though the opening round with a right-left combination. He took no damage and received no medical suspension, but Mendes is sidelined until Jan. 26.
Three of the 20 fighters that competed on the fight card face six-month suspensions.

The Nevada Athletic Commission released the full medical suspensions to MMAWeekly.com on Monday.
The Ultimate Fighter 22 Finale:Edgar vs. Mendes took place on Friday, Dec. 11, at the Chelsea at the Cosmopolitan Las Vegas.
Chad Mendes: Suspended until Jan. 26, 2016, with no contact until Jan. 11.
Tony Ferguson: Must have a CT scan of his head, or he is suspended until June 11. He faces a minimum suspension until Feb. 10 and no contact until Jan. 26.
Edson Barboza: Suspended until Jan. 26, with no contact until Jan. 11, due to a scalp laceration.
Evan Dunham: Suspended until Jan. 26, with no contact until Jan. 11, due to a laceration above his right eye.
Joe Lauzon: Suspended until Jan. 11., with no contact until Jan. 2.
Jason Knight: Suspended until Feb. 10, with no contact until Jan. 26, due to a cheek laceration.
Tatsuya Kawajiri: Suspended until Jan. 11, with no contact until Jan. 2.
Konstantin Erokhin: Suspended until Jan. 11, with no contact until Jan. 2, due to a thumb injury.
Mike Pierce: Suspended until Jan. 26, with no contact until Jan. 11.
Ryan LaFlare: Must have his right hand/thumb x-rayed to rule out a fracture. If positive, he needs to get an Orthopedic doctor’s clearance or he is suspended until June 11. His minimum suspension is until Jan. 11, with no contact until Jan. 2.
Joby Sanchez: Suspended until Jan. 26, with no contact until Jan. 2, due to facial lacerations.
Chris Gruetzemacher: Must have left and right forearms cleared by doctor or he is suspended until June 11. His minimum suspension is until Jan. 11, with no contact until Jan. 2.
Abner Lloveras: Suspended until Feb. 10, with no contact until Jan. 26, due to a facial laceration.
