UFC and FX officials are wasting no time rebranding The Ultimate Fighter after the first two seasons of the reality series didn’t perform up to expectations.

They’ve brought in the big guns, pitting one of the UFC’s most dominant champions, Jon Jones, against one of the promotion’s most dominant trash talkers, Chael Sonnen, as the coaches for the first season of 2013.

Couple the drawing power of the coaches with away from the dreaded Friday night timeslot to Tuesday nights and the hope is that TUF’s 17th season will be a blockbuster on FX.

TUF 17 premiers Tuesday, Jan. 22, with a two-hour premier.

Check out the first promo for The Ultimate Fighter: Team Jones vs. Team Sonnen.

Does it have you amped up for The Ultimate Fighter again or not?
