‘TUF 15’ Finale Bonuses: Lawrence Earns $80,000; Cofer, Kampmann, Chiesa Bank $40,000 Each

Justin Lawrence made an extra $80,000 for his efforts on Friday night, topping the list of post-fight award winners at “The Ultimate Fighter” Season 15 Finale. Joining him were John Cofer, Martin Kampmann and Mike Chiesa, who were each awarded $40,000 apiece in bonus money..

Lawrence walked away with “Fight of the Night” for his third-round knockout of Cofer, which also earned him “Knockout of the Night,” an honor he shares with Kampmann. Chiesa pocketed “Submission of the Night,” adding to the list of awards acquired by the Season 15 winner at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas.

Lawrence found himself in a competitive contest through two rounds in his lightweight affair with cast mate Cofer, but “The American Kid” finally found his knockout shot in the final five minutes. Just seconds into the last frame, Lawrence threw a right high kick, timing Cofer perfectly as he circled to his left. The shot proved pure, catching Cofer along the jawline and laying him out cold 19 seconds into round three.

Kampmann found himself on the receiving end of Ellenberger’s punching power to start their welterweight headliner, catching a left hook with his chin that put him on the floor and into survival mode. The Dane recovered, however, and came out swinging in round two, clipping “The Juggernaut” with a short right hand before blasting him with knees against the cage to earn the stoppage.

Chiesa struggled to take down Al Iaquinta early in the first round of their Season 15 final, but the Washingtonian eventually managed to grab a hold of his ‘TUF’ teammate. Iaquinta tried to spin free from the clinch but exposed his back in the process, allowing Chiesa to drag him to the mat and sink in both hooks before slipping in a rear-naked choke that relieved the New Yorker of his consciousness in just 2:27.
