Fresh off a successful title defense, Strikeforce lightweight champion Gilbert Melendez has been tapped for ceremonial-first-pitch honors at tonight's San Diego Padres game. The Friars take on Dann Stupp's Cincinnati Reds at PETCO Park at 7:05 p.m. PT (local time). Melendez throws his first pitch during pre-game ceremonies.
