After almost a full year away battling injuries, Conor McGregor made his return to the cage today (Sat., July 19, 2014) in front of his people at The O2 in Dublin, Ireland, in a main event match-up opposite Brazilian banger Diego Brandao at UFC Fight Night 46.

Brandao landed a head kick early. He went back to kicking high while McGregor threw some spinning stuff. The first takedown attempt came about 30 seconds in, with the Brazilian ducking under but failing to complete it.

Conor McGregor carried the weight of the expectations of his entire country into the Octagon with him on Saturday at Dublin's O2 Arena.
But if the bombastic Irish featherweight was nervous, he never showed it. McGregor fed off one of the most raucous atmospheres in UFC history and finished former Ultimate Fighter champion Diego Brandao in the main event of UFC Fight Night 46.
