Hiroko Yamanaka vs. Germaine de Randamie

Round 1: de Randamie gets her jab going early, loading up her right hand, feet very heavy, looking ready to launch a knockout punch. Yamanaka showing a lot of movement, but she’s circling into de Randamie’s power punch. de Randamie lands the big right hand, rocking Yamanka’s jaw, but Yamanaka goes straight back to work, trying to find an opening. de Randamie again lands the left jab-right cross. Yamanka lands a solid punch, but de Randamie answers. Yamanaka clinches and presses de Randamie to the cage. They switch positions a few times along the fence, but not much offense and the ref restarts them in the center. MMAWeekly.com scores round one 10-9 for de Randamie.

Round 2: Yamanaka still showing a lot of movement, but de Randamie remains in the pocket, launching the left-right combo whenever she sees an opening. She’s landing some very hard jabs, although Yamanaka takes the blows and does her best to answer back. Not landing with her strikes, Yamanaka rushes de Randamie and presses her to the fence again. Yamanaka lands a couple knees to the thighs, but again the referee separates them for a lack of action. de Randamie backs up Yamanaka with a solid combination, the big right hand landing twice in quick succession. She follows with another punch combination that finds home. Yamanaka tries to launch something, but de Randamie lands a couple more 1-2 combos before the horn.MMAWeekly.com scores round two 10-9 for de Randamie.

Roun3 : Yamanaka showing a sense of urgency, but it’s only proving to up the number of punches landed by de Randamie, who is landing every time that Yamanaka tries to close the gap. Yamanaka’s face finally showing the results of eating so many shots, but she once again clinches and presses de Randamie into the fence. Yamanaka launches a knee that lands low, however, causing a brief stoppage for de Randamie to recover from the low blow. They restart and de Randamie lets her hands fly, driving home punch after punch in between Yamanaka’s failed attempts to do the same. Yamanaka once again clinches and takes the fight to the cage. She lets up, de Randamie cracking her once again with the right hand as they come off the cage. Yamanaka not giving up, landing one-two combos of her own, but not with anywhere near the power that de Randamie is answering with. de Randamie lands a strong left hook and catches Yamanaka with a high kick to the head, follows a couple punch combinations and finishes with a front kick to the face. Yamanaka shows her toughness, staying up to the end, but she just never had an answer for de Randamie’s striking and power. MMAWeekly.com scores round three 10-9 and the fight 30-27 for de Randamie.
