Strikeforce Overeem vs. Werdum Play-by-Play: Josh Barnett vs. Brett Rogers

Round 1: Barnett immediately shoots on the first kick that Rogers fires off, and he gets the double-leg, immediately going to work in side control. Barnett is putting his weight on Rogers, trying to wear him down a little bit. Rogers tries to escape. He manages half guard momentarily, but Barnett easily slips past the half guard into full mount. Barnett is landing pot shots and pressing his forearm across Rogers’ face, making Rogers work and tiring him out. Rogers bucks Barnett off, but to no avail as Barnett climbs right back up into full mount. Barnett is laying his chest across Rogers’ face, restricting his oxygen, and punching him in the head at the same time. MMAWeekly.com scores round one 10-9 for Barnett.

Round 2: Rogers comes out firing, rushes Barnett, but Barnett turns the tide and throws Rogers to the mat, landing in full mount. Barnett once again puts all his weight on top of Rogers, wearing him out, although the crowd is booing. Barnett goes for the arm triangle choke, locks it up, and finishes it off, causing Rogers to tap out.
