Gegard Mousasi vs. Keith Jardine

Round 1 – Mousasi and Jardine kick it off with Jardine throwing jabs and coming forward.  Mousasi throws a kick and gets taken down, only to get right back up.  Jardine throwing a lot of kicks and punches, backing Mousasi up.  After a short flurry, Jardine rushes in to get the clinch, taking down Mousasi a short while later.  Mousasi gets back up, but his opponent takes him right back down.  Jardine allows him to get up and Mousasi turns it up a notch, pressing the Jackson’s MMA fighter.  Jardine gets Mousasi down again, but Mousasi throws an upkick and the ref puts a pause on the action.  As a result, the referee deducts one point from Mousasi.  The action continues and Mousasi lands some shots while in a Thai clinch.  The round ends with Jardine looking a little winded.

Round 2 – Jardine landing some solid leg kicks, but Mosasi lands a nice counter right.  Jardine is bloody in the face, dripping from the nose. Halfway through the round and Mousasi is getting the advantage on the feet.  Jardine lands a nice left mid kick.  Mousasi throws a punch that misses and opens up Jardine’s opportunity to get the clinch and take down.  The two return to the feet and Mousasi lands a stiff jab.  Jardine works to get a double leg takedown and is successful with about 40 seconds to go in the round.  The two get back up and the round ends a short while later with Jardine having a large cut above his right eye.

Round 3 – Mousasi pushes the action early in the third and lands a low blow hard enough that Jardine needs a break.  the ref halts the action, allowing him to recover.  The fight continues and Jardine is trying to get a double leg, but can’t.  In a turn of events, Mousasi shoots in for a takedown and gets it.  While getting up, Mousasi attempts a guillotine choke, but Jardine gets out of it.  The two clinch against the fence and Mousasi gets his opponent down again.  Mousasi gets full mount, but Jardine bucks out of it and gets back to the feet.  Jardine’s mouthpiece falls out and the ref stops action to put it back in.  Both fighters looking tired at this point in the fight as Mousasi gets his opponent down and works for a kimura.  No success with the submission leads the two fighters into a scramble on the ground.  Mousasi lands in Jardine’s half guard and works from there before an armbar attempt by Jardine just before the horn signals the end of the round.
