Heavyweight jiu-jitsu ace Rolles
has suffered an injury and will be unable to compete as
expected at the World
Series of Fighting’s upcoming third event
Sherdog.com confirmed Gracie’s injury with sources close to the
promotion. As a result, Gracie’s planned showdown with Dave
Huckaba has been scrapped, and a preliminary lightweight duel
Volkmann and Lyle
Beerbohm will be promoted to the NBC Sports Network broadcast.
WSOF 3 takes place June 14 at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las
Vegas and is headlined by a welterweight rematch between UFC
veterans Jon Fitch and
Volkmann, 32, was released from the UFC this past February on the
heels of his loss to Strikeforce import Bobby Green,
who notched a third-round submission over the Minnesotan at UFC
156. The wrestler has earned a 6-2 record since making the cut to
155 pounds in 2010, picking up notable wins over Ronys
Castillo and Efrain
Escudero along the way.
Beerbohm, 34, has won six straight fights since receiving his
Strikeforce release in 2011 following consecutive defeats to
Healy and Shinya Aoki.
“Fancy Pants” has already posted two victories to start 2013,
notching finishes under the Washington state-based Northwest
Fighting banner in January and March.

After two fights with the promotion followed by a lengthy layoff, Jacob Volkmann isn't happy with the way WSOF handled his contract. He instead had to take fights outside WSOF where he went 1-1, including a loss to TJ O'Brien last May.

Since the revelation of Chael Sonnen's multiple failed drug tests over the last month, one of the big questions has been if he will still compete in his scheduled grappling match with Andre Galvao at Metamoris 4. Metamoris Founder, Ralek Gracie released a statement that the bout would go ahead as planned.
