The free webcast will include a lightweight title bout between champion Douglas Evans and U.K. standout Ronnie Mann, as well as an 145-pound tilt between WEC veterans Marcus Hicks and Karen Darabedyan.
Anchorage, Alaska’s Evans has posted four wins in his last five bouts and earned the Shark Fights title with a first-round heelhook submission over Dustin Phillips at Shark Fights 9 in March.
The 23-year-old Mann has won two of his last three bouts for Sengoku in Japan, including a unanimous decision nod against Shigeki Osawa at Sengoku “Eleventh Battle” last November.
Darabedyan saw a seven-fight win streak come to an end when he posted back-to-back submission losses against Bart Palaszewski and Will Kerr in the WEC. The 23-year-old Armenian fighter by way of Glendale, Calif., was a two-time state judo champion, though has been lauded for his striking prowess in bouts against former WEC lightweight champion Rob McCullough and others.
Hicks, 34, who hails from Lewisville, Texas, notched three straight wins in the WEC in 2007 and 2008, including a first-round submission over Ed Ratcliff. Hicks fought for the WEC lightweight title at WEC 35 in August 2008, falling to Jamie Varner via first-round knockout. Most recently, Hicks submitted UFC 4 veteran Anthony Macias in the first round at Supreme Warrior Championship 10 in April.
Shark Fights 13’s main event boasts a non-title light heavyweight bout between promotional champion Trevor Prangley and former UFC staple Keith Jardine, while 2001 U.S. judo champion Rameau Thierry Sokjoudou will meet Nebraskan striker Houston Alexander at second billing.
