A new light heavyweight fight has been added to UFC 149 in Calgary as Canadian Ryan Jimmo finally makes his Octagon debut against grappler Anthony Perosh.
The fight was confirmed by UFC officials on Wednesday after an initial report from SportsNet.CA.
Former Maximum Fighting Championships light heavyweight champion Ryan Jimmo will look to keep his 16-fight win streak going when he makes his UFC debut in July.
Following a loss in his pro debut, Jimmo has reeled off 16 straight victories while picking up wins over former UFC fighters like Rameau Thierry Sokoudjou and Marvin Eastman. Now Jimmo will fight close to home as he competes in Calgary against a high level grappler from Australia.
Since dropping down to light heavyweight, Australian Anthony Perosh has looked like a new man and a new fighter.
Going 3-0 in his last three fights in the UFC, Perosh has won all of his bouts by submission or TKO and looked fierce in doing so. Now he’ll travel away from his homeland in Australia to meet a Canadian on his home turf.
The bout between Perosh and Jimmo will likely end up on the preliminary portion of the card.
