Ryan Healy Replaces Gabe Ruediger at Super Fight League Against Paul Kelly

Gabe Ruediger‘s loss will be Ryan Healy’s gain at the second Super Fight League show coming up in April.

On March 16, Ruediger suffered a TKO loss to Scott Catlin at a BAMMA show in the United States and was subsequently suspended by the California State Athletic Commission as a medical precaution.

While technically Super Fight League’s bouts are held in India and outside of the realm of the California commission’s rules, the promotion has opted to replace Ruediger in his scheduled bout against Paul Kelly.

Replacing him will be veteran fighter Ryan Healy, who is himself coming back from a loss as well, although he suffered no major injuries during his fight with John Alessio at the Score Fighting Series in Canada.

“Despite the fact that the SFL is not subject to the jurisdiction of CSAC, after a conversation with Commissioner George Dodd we decided to replace Gabe who was suspended by the California Commission. The SFL is a fighter first organization and part of that commitment means taking every precaution to assure fighter safety,” said Super Fight League’s Ken Pavia in a statement released late Friday night to MMAWeekly.com.

“We feel very fortunate that Ryan Healy has stepped up to fight Paul Kelly. Styles make fights and we expect Healy vs Kelly to be nothing short of a spectacular scrap.”

Super Fight League’s second show will take place in India on April 7 headlined by heavyweights Todd Duffee and Neil Grove in the main event.
