Next month’s UFC Fight Night 44 event in San Antonio has its 13th and likely final addition to the card.
UFC officials have made official a flyweight fight between Ryan Benoit (7-3 MMA, 0-1 UFC) and Ray Borg (6-1 MMA, 0-1 UFC) for UFC Fight Night 44, with each fighter looking to rebound from a loss in his UFC debut.
UFC Fight Night 44 takes place June 28 at San Antonio’s AT&T Center. Broadcast plans haven’t been announced, but the card is likely to be seen on a combination of FOX Sports 1 and UFC Fight Pass.
Benoit made his UFC debut this past November against Josh Sampo at the TUF 18 Finale, but was submitted in the second round with a rear-naked choke. Prior to that, the Legacy FC veteran had won five of his past six fights, including a perfect 4-0 mark for Legacy.
Borg made his promotional debut less than three weeks ago at UFC on FOX 11 in Orlando, but he dropped a split decision to Dustin Ortiz for the first loss of his career. He took the fight against Ortiz on short notice, and just two weeks after a submission win over Nick Urso at Legacy FC 30.
