UFC president Dana White has said repeatedly that the UFC won’t go to Mexico without heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez.
The promotion, however, has another champion that is also of Hispanic descent… women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey. And Rousey is more than willing to help the UFC open up various Hispanic markets if given the opportunity.
Rousey discussed the possibilities of doing that at Wednesday’s UFC 170 open workouts and media scrum in Las Vegas. Before she can give much more thought to new markets, she’ll first have to defend her belt against fellow former Olympian Sara McMann in the UFC 170 main event on Saturday night at the Mandalay Bay Events Center.
