Reminder: Tickets on sale today for 'UFC 172: Jones vs. Teixeira' in Baltimore

ufc-172-posterAs a reminder, tickets for the UFC’s first visit to Baltimore go on sale today.

UFC 172 features a light heavyweight title fight between champion Jon Jones (19-1 MMA, 13-1 UFC) and top contender Glover Teixeira (22-2 MMA, 5-0 UFC) in the main event. The card has recently started to fill out with the addition of bouts like Jake Ellenberger vs. Tarec Saffiedine, Phil Davis vs. Anthony Johnson, Tim Boetsch vs. Luke Rockhold and Joseph Benavidez vs. Timothy Elliott.

UFC 172 takes place April 26 at Baltimore Arena. The main card airs on pay-per-view following prelims on FOX Sports 1 and UFC Fight Pass.

UFC Fight Club members can purchase tickets today at 10 a.m. ET. In addition, UFC e-newsletter subscribers can purchase their tickets on Thursday at 10 a.m. ET. Tickets for the general public go on sale Friday through TIcketmaster or the Baltimore Arena box office at 10 a.m. ET. Prices range from $50 to $350, plus fees.

Jones will defend his 205-pound title for the seventh time. In September, he got past Alexander Gustafsson in a narrow unanimous decision that most consider his toughest test yet. A win over Teixeira and a Gustafsson win over Jimi Manuwa next month will set up a rematch, UFC President Dana White has said.

Teixeira will have gone more than nine years since his last loss by the time he steps in the cage with Jones. The protege of UFC Hall of Famer Chuck Liddell has won 20 straight fights, including his first five in the UFC. Most recently, he has a “Knockout of the Night” win over Ryan Bader this past September to earn his title shot, and a “Submission of the Night” victory over James Te Huna at UFC 160 this past May.

The latest UFC 172 card includes:

  • Champ Jon Jones vs. Glover Teixeira – for light-heavyweight title
  • Jake Ellenberger vs. Tarec Saffiedine
  • Phil Davis vs. Anthony Johnson
  • Tim Boetsch vs. Luke Rockhold
  • Joseph Benavidez vs. Timothy Elliott
  • Joe Ellenberger vs. Yancy Medeiros
  • Andre Fili vs. Max Holloway
  • Bethe Correia vs. Jessamyn Duke
