As a reminder, the UFC’s traditional pre-event show returns today, with the debut of “Countdown to UFC 170: Rousey vs. McMann” on FOX Sports 1.
The one-hour special previews the card’s headlining women’s bantamweight title fight between a pair of Olympic medalists, as champion Ronda Rousey (8-0 MMA, 2-0 UFC) takes on undefeated wrestling stylist Sara McMann (7-0 MMA, 1-0 UFC).
“Countdown to UFC 170? airs at 8 p.m. ET (5 p.m. PT), and replays air throughout the week.
UFC 170 takes place Saturday at Las Vegas’ Mandalay Bay Events Center. The main card airs on pay-per-view following prelims on FOX Sports 1 and UFC Fight Pass.
“Countdown to UFC 170? will focus heavily on the headliner, in which judo bronze medalist Rousey takes on wrestling silver medalist McMann.
The planned co-main event between undefeated former heavyweight Daniel Cormier (13-0 MMA, 2-0 UFC), who makes his 205-pound debut, and former light heavyweight champ Rashad Evans (19-3-1 MMA, 14-3-1 UFC) was scrapped this past week thanks to an Evans injury. Instead, Cormier will face former training partner and All-American wrestler Patrick Cummins (4-0 MMA, 0-0 UFC) on short notice.
Also be featured on the show is an intriguing welterweight fight between Rory MacDonald (15-2 MMA, 6-2 UFC) and Demian Maia (18-5 MMA, 12-5 UFC).
The finalized UFC 170 lineup includes:
MAIN CARD (Pay-per-view, 10 p.m. ET)
PRELIMINARY CARD (FOX Sports 1, 8 p.m. ET)
PRELIMINARY CARD (UFC Fight Pass, 7 p.m. ET)
