Ramsey Nijem-James Vick, Cody Donovan-Ovince St. Preux Booked for UFC on FS1

Two new bouts have been added to the UFC’s debut on Fox Sports 1.

Ramsey Nijem will take on fellow lightweight James Vick at the Aug. 17 event, while Ovince St. Preux (Pictured) and Cody Donovan collide at 205 pounds. The show takes place at the TD Garden in Boston and is headlined by a light heavyweight scrap pitting former UFC champion Mauricio Rua against ex-title challenger Chael Sonnen.

Nijem, 25, saw a three-fight winning streak snapped in his most recent outing, when he was knocked cold by fellow “Ultimate Fighter” alum Myles Jury at UFC on Fox 7. That April 20 setback marked Nijem’s first loss since he was stopped by Tony Ferguson at the “TUF 13” finale as a welterweight back in June 2011.

Vick, meanwhile, will make his official UFC debut against Nijem. A veteran of “TUF 15,” Vick posted four straight wins to begin his pro career prior to joining the show’s cast. The 26-year-old advanced to the “TUF 15” semifinals by posting wins over Daron Cruickshank and Joe Proctor but eventually met his demise in the round of four courtesy of eventual season winner Michael Chiesa.

Donovan, 32, rides a four-fight winning streak into his sophomore UFC effort. “Donnybrook” was victorious in his Octagon debut this past December, knocking out Canadian talent Nick Penner in 4:35 at UFC on FX 6. The Coloradoan has gone the distance just once as a professional and owns half of his victories by form of knockout.

Two years younger than his foe, St. Preux has won 10 of his last 11, most recently picking up a controversial technical decision over Gian Villante in April after their bout was halted in the third round due to an accidental eye poke. A former linebacker at the University of Tennessee, the Strikeforce import owns nine of his 13 victories via knockout or submission and has been finished just once in 18 pro outings.
