Photo: Takanori Gomi and Isaac Vallie-Flagg after UFC 172's 'Fight of the Night'

Following their epic brawl at Saturday’s UFC 172 event, lightweights Takanori Gomi and Isaac Vallie-Flagg posed for a photo – one that proves MMA can be a tough way to make a living.

In a FOX Sports 1-televised preliminary-card bout at Maryland’s Baltimore Arena, Gomi earned a hard-fought unanimous-decision victory over Vallie-Flagg. Both fighters earned $50,000 “Fight of the Night” bonus checks for their efforts.

Vallie-Flagg (14-5-1 MMA, 1-2 UFC) took the lead early in the fight, but in the final two rounds, Gomi (35-9 MMA, 4-4 UFC) found his stride and battered his opponent. By the end of the fight, a bloodied Vallie-Flagg could barely see out of a damaged right eye.
