There are close decisions. There are controversial decisions that get labeled as robberies that have people saying, “But it wasn’t really a robbery.” And, of course, there are robberies, real and true.

And then, apparently, there is what happened to Ross Pearson (15-7 MMA, 7-4 UFC) on Saturday night against Diego Sanchez (25-7 MMA, 14-7 UFC), which had most of the watching world saying it was another category of judging shame altogether.

MMAjunkie scored the UFC Fight Night 42 co-main event for Pearson, giving him all three rounds. One judge agreed. But two others gave the fight to Albuquerque’s own Sanchez. One judge even gave him all three rounds.

FightMetric, the UFC’s official stats provider, shows that Pearson landed more strikes than Sanchez in every round, and at a higher percentage, and landed the fight’s only takedown, as well. But those things didn’t seem to matter to two judges.

Check out the scorecard above from the fight, which aired on FOX Sports 1 from Tingley Coliseum in Albuquerque, N.M. Then weigh in below with your thoughts on the decision.
