Lyoto Machida at UFC 104

A light heavyweight match-up between former titleholder Lyoto Machida and Phil Davis has been added to the UFC 163 fight card.

Portaldovaletudo.uol.com first reported the match-up on Monday and MMAWeekly.com has confirmed through sources close to the bout that Davis and Machida have verbally agreed to the fight.

Machida (19-3) is on a two-fight winning streak, defeating Ryan Bader and Dan Henderson in his last two outings.  A win over Davis could move Machida to the top of a short list of names to get a title shot.

Davis (11-1-1) is also riding a two-fight winning streak and has only been defeated by former light heavyweight champion Rashad Evans.

UFC 163 takes places on August 3 at the HSBC Arena in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil and his headlined by a featherweight title bout between champion Jose Aldo and challenger Anthony Pettis.
