A lightweight bout is in the works for UFC 146 in May pitting submission specialist Paul Sass against Jacob Volkmann.
UFC officials confirmed the fight on Tuesday with verbal agreements in place from the fighters.
At 12-0, undefeated British prospect Paul Sass has been a quiet assassin inside the cage, pulling off submission after submission throughout his career.
In the UFC, Sass has gone 2-0, submitting both Mark Holst and Michael Johnson, and now looks to make it three for three when he faces an extremely tough wrestler in May.
Jacob Volkmann may not have a completely unblemished record, but heβs been perfect thus far as a lightweight.
Volkmann has looked impressive during his time at 155 pounds after moving down from welterweight, and most recently defeated former Ultimate Fighter winner Efrain Escudero in his last trip to the Octagon.
Now the chiropractor by day will look to keep his record in tact when he faces Paul Sass in May.
