Paul Daley finally has an opponent for next month’s Bellator 163 event.
Officials today confirmed with MMAjunkie that Daley (38-14-2 MMA, 4-1 BMMA) will meet Derek Anderson (14-2 MMA, 5-2 BMMA) in a welterweight bout at the event.
Bellator 163 takes place Nov. 4 at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn. The main card airs on Spike following prelims on MMAjunkie.
Daley was on a five-fight winning streak and had posted nine victories in a 10-bout span before a July unanimous-decision loss to former Bellator champion Douglas Lima, who was a replacement for Daley’s rival Josh Koscheck. The 33-year-old English fighter owns 28 knockouts in 38 career wins. Prior to the Lima loss, Daley earned back-to-back knockout wins over Andy Uhrich and Dennis Olson.
Anderson, meanwhile, looks for his third straight win following decision victories over notables Patricky Freire and Saad Awad in his two most recent bouts. The 26-year-old, whose first nine career wins came via stoppage, has recently competed at lightweight.
In addition to Daley vs. Anderson, a heavyweight bout between Sergei Kharitonov (23-5 MMA, 0-0 BMMA) and Javy Ayala (9-5 MMA, 4-2 BMMA) is also slated for Bellator 163. MMAFighting.com first reported the bout.
