Legacy FC lightweight champion Jorge Patino now has an opponent, and Henry Cejudo has a new foe for next month’s Legacy FC 25 event.
Patino (30-13-1), previously announced for the card, takes on undefeated Carlos Diego Ferreira (8-0) in the championship headliner. Additionally, Cejudo (5-0), who actually picked up a decision victory over Ryan Hollis this past weekend at Legacy FC 24, has a new opponent for Legacy FC 25 after Bellator and Strikeforce vet Humberto DeLeon (6-5) replaced Elias Garcia (4-0).
Legacy FC promoter Mick Maynard confirmed the fights with MMAjunkie.com.
The event takes place Nov. 15 at Houston’s Arena Theatre, and the main card airs on AXS TV.
Ferreira got the title shot after defeating then-unbeaten Chris Feist (8-0 at the time) at Legacy FC 24. The 28-year-old owns five stoppages in eight career wins. In May he scored a decision victory over UFC and WEC vet Carlo Prater. Patino, meanwhile, is riding a seven-fight winning streak and now looks for his second lightweight title defense. “Macaco” also owns the organization’s welterweight belt.
Cejudo, an Olympic gold medalist in freestyle wrestling, looks for his sixth win in just eight months as a pro. Despite DeLeon’s current four-fight skid, he represents Cejudo’s most accomplished opponent to date.
The latest Legacy FC 25 card now includes:
MAIN CARD (AXS TV, 10 p.m. ET)
PRELIMINARY CARD (Untelevised, 8 p.m. ET)
