ONE FC Bolsters 135-Pound Ranks with Legend FC Champ Xian Ji and URCC Champ Cary Bullos

Cary Bullos and Xian JiONE FC has expanded its already impressive 135-pound roster with the signing of two titleholders from Asian promotions. Legend FC bantamweight champion Xian Ji and URCC Visayan bantamweight champion Cary Bullos are the latest additions to a division that already includes Bibiano Fernandes, Masakatsu Ueda, Kevin Belingon, and Dae Hwan Kim.

Ji (11-2) won the vacant 135-pound title of the now-defunct Legend FC when he submitted Agustin Delarmino with a first-round armbar in Kuala Lumpur last year. He trains at China Top Team alongside current UFC lightweight Tiequan Zhang and all 11 of his victories have come by way of submission.

Bullos (7-1) holds the bantamweight URCC Visayan title, which has an upper limit of 139 pounds. He hails from the same region in the South of the Philippines as ONE FC head honcho Victor Cui. The sole loss of his career to date came at the hands of Leonard Delarmino, whose brother Ji defeated to win the Legend FC belt.

While ONE FC has plenty of depth in all of the lighter divisions and is rapidly expanding the roster elsewhere, there is no doubt that the 135-pound category contains the most concentrated array of talent. Top contenders Kim and Belingon set to face off in Kuala Lumpur next month and Fernandes is likely to make the first defense of his unified title against Ueda later this year.

Ji and Delarmino will be in the mix along with Koetsu Okazaki and Yusup Saadulaev, who after patches of indifferent form are both coming off impressive recent wins, as well as former champion Soo Chul Kim, who returns to action against UFC veteran Motonobu Tezuka at Road FC 14 this weekend.

The only event announced at present is ONE FC: War of Nations, which is set for Stadium Negara in Kuala Lumpur on March 14, but the Singapore headquartered organization is reportedly ready to ramp up its schedule in the second half of the year with multiple shows per month.
