ONE FC Announces Major Move on China with 14 Events There by the End of 2015

ONE FC Partners with AMC Live Group to Put on 14 events in China Over Course of Next 18 Months

One FC-New Logo Circa 2014In a groundbreaking announcement on Friday, ONE FC revealed it signed an agreement with AMC Live Group that would see four events take place in China before the end of the year with a further 10 shows to be held in the same country in 2015.

ONE FC: War of Dragons, which is set for Taipei next month, will be the promotion’s first foray into Chinese territory, but this deal will see the Singapore headquartered promotion head to multiple cities all across mainland China.

“This monumental agreement will redefine the sport of mixed martial arts forever,” said ONE FC CEO Victor Cui. “ONE Fighting Championship will become the first world-class mixed martial arts organization ever to hold an event in mainland China.”

According to Cui, ONE FC’s ten events in China next year will be spread across ten separate venues.

“China is the birthplace of martial arts like Sanda, Wushu, and Kung Fu, and there is a rich martial arts tradition. ONE FC will be available to over one billion people in China alone and will bring adrenaline-pumping mixed martial arts action to ten different cities across the country a year. The landscape of mixed martial arts will be changed forever as China welcomes ONE FC,” he said.

According to a press release, AMC Live Group, which was established in 2009, is the premier event promotion in Asia and has successfully organized concerts and tours for international superstars such as Elton John, Faye Wong, Eason Chan, Jay Chou, and Stefanie Sun.

At present, the biggest Chinese name on the ONE FC roster is Xian Ji, who was bantamweight champion of the now-defunct Legend FC, but the organization is likely to be picking up many more fighters from the region in the coming weeks in preparation for its first foray into mainland China.

Since its inception in 2011, ONE FC has held 17 events in four different countries and the schedule seems to be ramping up rapidly with the promotion also heading to Taiwan and Cambodia before the end of the year.
