A welterweight bout between newcomers Nicolas Dalby (13-0 MMA, 0-0 UFC) and Elizeu Zaleski (14-4 MMA, 0-0 UFC) is in the works for May’s UFC Fight Night 67 lineup.
The bout, which Combate first reported, isn’t yet official.
UFC Fight Night 67 takes place May 30 at Goiania Arena in Goiania, Goias, Brazil. The bulk of the card is expected to air on FOX Sports 1 following early prelims on UFC Fight Pass.
Dalby, a 30-year-old Danish fighter, is a five-year pro who won the vacant Cage Warriors welterweight title with a March 2014 TKO win over Sergei Churilov. He then defended it with a decision victory over Mohsen Bahari in November. Dalby, who owns seven stoppages in 13 career wins, is the second Danish fighter in the UFC and follows longtime welterweight/middleweight Martin Kampmann.
Zaleski, a former Jungle Fight champion, is riding a four-fight winning streak. Overall, he owns six victories over his past seven fights – all of which have come via stoppage – since a rough 1-3 stretch ended in 2012. In 14 career wins, 13 have come via stoppage (11 knockouts and two submissions).
