An injury to Jake Lindsey has opened the door for UFC newcomer and Colorado native Cody Pfister.
Pfister (11-3-1 MMA, 0-0 UFC) has replaced Lindsey (9-2 MMA, 0-2 UFC) and now meets fellow lightweight James Moontasri (7-2 MMA, 0-1 UFC) next month at UFC Fight Night 60 in Colorado.
UFC officials today announced the change. The nature of Lindsey’s injury wasn’t disclosed.
UFC Fight Night 60 takes place Feb. 14 at 1STBank Center in Broomfield, Colo. The bulk of the card airs on FOX Sports 1 following a lone prelim on UFC Fight Pass. Moontasri vs. Pfister is the lone Fight Pass prelim.
Pfister enters the UFC on an eight-fight unbeaten streak. After a pair of losses in 2011, the 24-year-old Shark Fights and XFL vet has gone 7-0-1 with five stoppages.
His opponent, Moontasri, recently made his UFC debut and suffered a split-decision defeat to Joe Ellenberger at UFC Fight Night 44. The 26-year-old has posted a three-fight winning streak with RFA before signing with the UFC.
The full UFC Fight Night 60 lineup now includes:
MAIN CARD (FOX Sports 1, 10 p.m. ET)
PRELIMINARY CARD (FOX Sports 1, 8 p.m. ET)
PRELIMINARY CARD (UFC Fight Pass, 7:30 p.m. ET)
