UFC officials announced the booking on Thursday, revealing that the welterweights will join the “Fight for the Troops 3” bill, which is headlined by Lyoto Machida’s middleweight debut against Tim Kennedy. The show takes place at Fort Campbell in Hopkinsville, Ky., and airs live on Fox Sports 1.
A veteran of “The Ultimate Fighter 16,” Magny fought his way to the show’s semifinals before being brutally knocked out by Canadian prospect Mike Ricci. Following his time on the show, Magny made a successful UFC debut against cast mate Jon Manley but was finished quickly in his most recent outing, tapping to a Sergio Moraes triangle choke at UFC 163.
Baczynski, 31, saw a six-fight winning streak snapped this past December, when he was outpointed by Mike Pierce at UFC on FX 6. “The Polish Pistola” then suffered his second straight loss for the first time since 2007, as Baczynski was upset by Strikeforce import Brian Melancon last month at UFC 162.
