An injury to Michael Graves has forced him out of his bout with Danny Roberts at UFC Fight Night 80.
Stepping in for the injured Graves (5-0 MMA, 1-0 UFC) is Nathan Coy (14-5 MMA, 0-0 UFC), who will be making his octagon debut against Roberts (11-1 MMA, 0-0 UFC).
UFC Fight Night 80 takes place Dec. 10 at The Chelsea at The Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas. The entire card streams on UFC Fight Pass. It will be followed by the TUF 22 Finale at the same venue on Dec. 11 and UFC 194 at MGM Grand Garden Arena on Dec. 12.
The bout was confirmed on the UFC’s official website.
Coy is a Strikeforce and Bellator veteran who is on a 6-1 run in his previous seven bouts. He had his six-fight winning streak snapped in his last bout, a second-round knockout loss to Adam McDonough at Bellator 116. Following the defeat, Coy was a cast member on “The Ultimate Fighter” Season 21, representing American Top Team. He went 1-1 on the show, getting submitted by Vicente Luque before defeating Valdir Araujo by unanimous decision.
Roberts is on a five-fight winning streak that led to his signing to make his UFC debut at the event. Hailing from Liverpool, England, Roberts hasn’t lost in nearly four years, rolling through the competition, going 5-0 for Cage Warriors with four stoppages. He has six wins for the promotion overall.
